Research:

I am an applied anthropologist with a focus on equity and social justice within the broad context of development. I critically examine practices, processes, and outcomes of social change and have undertaken research in a variety of domains, including: integrated resource conservation and community development in South Africa, transnational student social media activism, higher education diversity work, and post-secondary education policy. In addition, I am actively engaged in local applied research projects, with a commitment to equitable and inclusive community development. My work employs both qualitative methods (participant observation, interviewing, cultural mapping, time-use analysis…) as well as quantitative approaches (social network analysis, descriptive and inferential statistical analysis). For details about my current research and applied projects, check out my website: https://rebecca-robertson.com/
